Once again it is my pleasant task to thank the many who helped in the Friday evening telling of the Christmas Story in the Town Hall. The assistance was varied, but all indispensable; one bit could never have been afforded had not Tommy Starks made his “Hyster” available, with Ernest Fletcher to run it, as an act of community spirit for the decking of the community Christmas tree. But though that was the most potentially expensive gift, the list of what was given in time, money, manual labor, and “things” is longer than one would imagine so 1 must present them in groups; things: the Dicks, the Lees of the Lakewood Atlantic Stove Company; the Keeseys, Keeton Barnes, the Thomas Massies, Ju<Iy Harrison; actions: Fran Eldred, Debbie Flinchum, Carson Johnson and members of the Rappahannock Players, Howard Butler, Stanley Thompson, Dieter Knuepfer, Michelen Hostetter, Sidney Mank and my wife on costumes.
