Joining in the informal ceremony on the steps of the United States Capitol was Warner’s wife, Elizabeth.
During the two-year term of the %th Congress, Warner is the only Republican senator to be recorded as voting “yea” or “nay” on every one of the Senate’s nearly 1,050 rollcalls. For a GOP senator, Warner’s is the first perfect voting record for an entire Congress in almost a decade. It was last accomplished by the late Sen. Margaret Chase Smith of Maine in 1971-72.
