Miller agreed with Luke’s proposal but still maintained that determination of zoning by slope should be retained.

*‘I don’t like the way we administer slope,” Luke responded. He pointed out that developers are held to strict compliance while “ordinary folks” who divide just a single lot or two with administrative approval are not even checked for compliance with slope regulations.

When the ordinance revision is finished, Miller concluded, the best way to handle slope criteria may be to require strict compliance of everyone and have the supervisors so direct the zoning administrator.
