also want to thank everyone who donated items and helped with operations at the Thrift Shop this past year.
The Auxiliary made $480 on the days of the Rappahannock House tour and $2,132.50 from Thrift Shop sales during 1980.
During the past year, the Ladies Auxiliary gave the Washington Fire and Rescue Squad a $1,500 check and paid $900 on their bank note plus paid $4,600 on their borrowed money note. In total, the Auxiliary donated $7,000 to the Washington Fire Department and Rescue Squad in 1980.
In addition, we have donated clothes to welfare families and to families whose homes and belongings have been destroyed by fire. We also sent items to flood areas last year in care of Vint Hill Farms.
We would like to announce that the Thrift Shop has been moved from the old fire house to the former Washington Methodist Church, now the new town hall, across from Jenkins
