A few other items were salvaged, but by the time firemen reached the scene the fire was beyond control. The frame house was very old and was heated by wood stoves. The farm outbuildings were saved.
The Ketcheros lost practically everything in the fire. Donations of furniture, household items, clothes and money will be gratefully accepted by the family. The two boys are size six and eight and the little girl wears size three clothing. Mrs. Ketchem is a size 7 or 9 and her husband wears a 16-l6'/j shirt and 34-32 pants. Small items or cash for the family may be +eft/at the Rappahannock news office Friday or Monday or Settle's Garage in Flint Hill. Pieces of furniture will be picked up by the Ketchems if reported to either of the above places.
