Wakefield School in Huntly will present its fifth annual Spring Horse and r9t>ny Show at the Marshall 4-.,
Ground* (idjsccnt to tht/ '^Marshall' Livestock Market)' on Saturday. May 30, at 8 a.m.
Now a member of the Short Circuit, the Wakefield show this year will feature 30 classes with division championships awarded according to FHSA rules in the following categories: Beginner, Advanced Beginner. Novice Small Pony, Novice Large Pony, SmallMedium Pony Hunter, Large Pony Hunter and Junior.
In addition to these awards. the Wakefield Perpetual Trophy will be presented to the Wakefield student accumulating the most points during the show. The trophy, donated by McDaniel Jewelers in Front Royal, will be put on permanent display at Wakefield School.
All pre-entries with a fee of S3.50 must be mailed by May 28 to the show secretary, Mrs. Douglas L. Jones at Rt. 3, Box 246. Front Royal, Va. 22630. Post entries will be S4.
Judging the show this year will be Mrs. K. T. Atkins with Brad Updike announcing and Bobby Gehringer as ringmaster.
All exhibitors must be juniors according to VHSA rules, or not having reached their 18th birthday as of January 1. 1981. A current negative Coggins test will be required of all participants.
The Wakefield show will go on rain or shine. Luncheon will be served on the grounds. All proceeds will go to the School.
