NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF A PROPOSED REVISION IN ELECTRIC RATES BY THE POTOMAC EDISON COMPANY

The Potomac Edison Company (“Potomac Edison” or “Company”) has filed with the State Corporation Commission documents to show the financial condition of its electric operations for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980. The documents were filed in compliance with the Commission’s program of reviewing the financial condition of all electric public service companies, including Potomac Edison, on an annual basis.

Additionally, Potomac Edison has filed with the Commission a proposed increase in electric rates to produce additional annual gross revenues of $3,663,200 based on its operations for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980. The Company states that the revised rates would produce a 9.1 percent increase in gross base rate revenues based on its existing rates as of December 31, 1980. The Commission’s Staff will investigate Company’s report on its financial condition for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980, and the proposed increase in rates of $3,663,200 and will file a report by June 8,1981.

Any interested party may review Company’s report on the financial condition of its electric operations for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980, together with the proposed revision in electric rates, during regular business hours at the Commission’s Document Control Center, Public Inquiry, Jefferson Building, Richmond, Virginia, or at any Company office where bills
