The News reported

that the Ned Johnsons had received recognition in the April 1961 issue of the Farm Journal. The Johnsons were featured in an article on Angus cattle.

In the Washington News it was noted that Miss Mary Miller Wood had as her dinner guests that Sunday Rev. and Mrs. Warren Wilbur of Flint Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Edmonds and family of Huntly and Mrs. John A. Keyser. At Stokes Clothing Store there were Spring clothing specials: Ladies' high heel shoes for $4.98, Girls Easter dresses for $1.98, Men’s wading boots for $9.95, and drapery material for 59 cents a yard.
