The Randnlph-Macon Acaedmy Parade Unit, composed of the Group Staff, Color Guard, Band. Flag Corps, and Drill Team earned two first place trophies Saturday at the 1961 Poultry Festival Parade in Harrisonburg.
The Band won first place in the military school band competition and the Drill Team won first place in the military school drill team competition.
The R-MA units were competing with units from Augusta Military Academy. Fork Union Military Academy, and Massanutten Military Academy.
The unit from RandolphMacon was led by Cadet Captain Lindsay Eastham of Washington, with Cadet SSgt. Keith Kelly of Germantown, Md. commanding the Color Guard. Cadet .Captain Dawn Driscoll of Front Royal is the Band Squadron Commander and Drum Major and Cadet Captain Mark Berwanger of Manassas is the Drill Team
