Rappahannock’s supervisors unanimously approved an amendment to the county's zoning ordinance at Monday’s board meeting which allows automotive garages and used car sales by special permit in an agricultural zone.
The regulation change sparked little public interest. Three supporters spoke in favor of the amendment with the only opposition coming in a letter from an adjoining landowner. The disinterest seemed to be shared by the supervisors who voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance change without a word of discussion.
The amendment allows garages limited to five vehicles for sale at one time in an agricultural zone with a special use permit from the board of zoning appeals.
