announced Hushel Settle. Settle initially applied for a commercial rezoning of his property on Route 729 near Estes so he could obtain state vehicle inspection and used car sales licenses. He has operated a garage at the agriculturally zoned site for the past several years in violation of zoning ordinance regulations which did' not allow that use in an agricultural zone. In denying his rezoning application, the county’s planning commission suggested that Rappahannock’s ordinances he amended to allow the use by special permit.

Citing the unanimous recommendation from the planners. Carson Johnson said the commission had studied the issue and determined the amendment was best for the county as a whole.
