To The Editor: May I suggest that it will be more in the spirit of the July 4th season (the main thrust of which was right to ^fe and trust in God) if we Wrote to our representatives in defense of life than of death to millions of helpless unborn children, via abortions.
Even the most ardent original supporters of legal abortions have given up the biological nonsense that aborting is like clipping a tonsil.
May I emphasize that all, and I do mean all, scientific evidence proves that life begins at conception and the fetus is a real human being, with those characteristics which distinguish it from any other body organ.
The fetus: A-At 4 weeks has a different blood type and different heart beat (which is used to predict its sex) from that of the mother. B-At 7 weeks it has a complete cardial system and a humanlike face. C-At 12 weeks it hs legs that can kick, a mouth tha can swallow liquids and suck its thumb; all characteristics of a human being.
The obvious facts are, that just as the court of a mideighteen hundreds, ignored the biological fact that a black man is just as truly human as those of any color, and declared him a chattel, to be used to the convenience of others, the present court has ignored the established humanity of the fetus and declared its continued existence subject to the convenience of the mother.
The AMA vote for abortion was in contradiction to the testimony of its members, and i not the first time that politics and profits .(abortions are a multi-billion dollar busines) reflected on the AMA’s record.
