The RappahannockRapidan Emergency Medical Services Council would like to express its gratitude for the support extended by all participants in the Mock Disaster Exercise staged at T. I. Martin Airport in Culpeper County June 28.

Special thanks go to Mervin Bray, airport manager and the Culpeper Airport Commission for their cooperation and community spirit in donating the airport facilities for the exercise. The victims of the mock airplane

Once again, Mr. and Mrs. Carrigan have provided a very fitting climax, at their home, Avon Hall, to the July Fourth celebration that is earning Rappahannock's County seat, Washington, widening interest in Virginia’s Northern Neck and even the other, younger Washington. The fireworks were handsome and not without cost and the earlier entertainment took time, thought, and energy, all for the enjoyment of the largest crowd I have seen on the grounds of Avon Hall. I hope the Carrigans felt repaid for their generosity. My wife and I are very appreciative of it.

To the editor: I would like to publicly thank all those who helped make the 3rd Annual Fourth of July Antique Car Show a success. Special thanks must go to John B. Morgan of Woodville, whose fine collection of unusual and well preserved cars really made the show. Thanks also to "Junior” Baldwin of Sperryville, (who spent most of the night before getting all of J.B.’s cars running cleaned up), Grace Sims (1953 MGTD), Mike Brown (B & B Service Station - 1953 Plymouth, 3rd prize), Kermit Weakley (1950 Plymouth) and Sam Gifton (1953 Studebaker). First prize was awared to J. B. Morgan’s 1956 Thunderbird and second prize went to Junior Baldwin’s 1936 Ford roadster.

Next year we are hoping to put together an even bigger show and hope all these local cars will be back again. Thanks again for your support.
