But Helen also acknowedged that Jesus warned in the New Testament against soothsayers, fortune tellers, astrologers and charlatans who exploited people’s ignorance and superstition for gain and glory.
“He tried to teach people not to worry about tomorrow,” she noted. “We don’t always follow that advice. It’s difficult not to be anxious about the future. But I still think that’s an excellent teaching.”
