Not An Astrologer

"But I'm absolutely not an astrologer," Helen stressed. "I’m a student of many, many subjects, only one of which is astrology. I've always had an abiding interest in what people believe and what people have believed in the past, their religions and their philosophies. I've read a great deal and I've never been afraid to delve into certain studies just because they were off-beat, or strange, or ancient, or ahead of the times. I'm open minded and if something piques my curiosity, I want to learn more."

This inquisitive nature runs in Helen Kilby’s family. She comes from a long line of pioneer educators, scholars, farmers and politicians in Southwest Virginia. One grandfather was a representative in the Kentucky legislature, the other a headmaster of a "ladies’ seminary."

Helen's bent towards music and education is inherited from her two grandmothers. Her mother, still very alert at 92, started her college education at 81
