The marriage of Kathryn Marie Romine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dolen Romine of Castleton, and Douglas Harry Coombs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Coombs, Sr. of Flint Hill took place June 14, 1981 at the home of the bride’s parents. The ceremoney was preformed by the Rev Milton Switzer, also of Castleton.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a full length white organdy dress trimmed in eyelet lace and seed pearls. The long sleeves ended in wide cuffs with pearl buttons. She wore a white picture hat trimmed with red sweetheart roses and baby’s breath, and carried a single long stemmed red rose with fern and baby’s breath.

Deborah Knighting of Boston was maid of honor. Her light blue dress was fashioned similarly to the bride’s. She carried a single long stemmed pink rose with fern and baby’s breath.

Allan Coombs, Jr., of Flint Hill served as best man for his brother.

Bridesmaids were Tsahai Romine of Arlington, cousin of the bride; Robyn Stuart of Kent, Conn, and Candy Coombs of Flint Hill, sister of the bridegroom. Their dresses were white with blue flowers, and they each carried a long stemmed white rose with fern and baby’s breath.

Ushers were Joe Royston of Calverton, Bucky Hay of Culpeper and Allen Edwards of Rixeyville. The bride is a 1981 graduate of Rappahannock County High School. Mr.
