“If the board’s decision is ‘yes. we build,’ then we look to funding sources. . . and set limits on how much we’re going to spend." Estabrook said.
As part of the program audit that will examine the relative efficiency of space use at both schools, Eastham suggested that the superintendent analyze curriculum.
"Are we teaching what we should be teaching?" he asked. Then, said Eastham, Estabrook can offer his recommendations — if any— on course expansion and include the impact of broadening curriculum in a separate program audit as well.
Nelson Lane proposed that the board schedule a couple of day meetings at the school to observe actual space use while classes are in session, adding that the supervisors should also be invited to those meetings.
