Charlie Jenkins reported on the state of the water situation in Washington, saying that, although there had been a great deal of rainfall and the springs were doing fine, he was having to pump water from the well. "We must have lost a lot of water last month," Jenkins said. “There were so many broken pipes from the extreme cold.”
A mysterious problem plaguing the town has been the presence of nails on the streets, causing motorists to have flat tires. Taylor Updike reported that they were flooring nails.
Some members thought the nails were in some way associated with snow removal equipment. “We had this problem once before.” Miller said. "We had to go so far as to get a truck with a big magnet to come through here. You’d be surprised what they found”.
