Thursday Morning 6:45 we reluctantly crawled out of bed. One by one we took showers. At about 7:10 we met in the hall to walk over for breakfast at the cafeteria. After breakfast we walked back to our rooms and packed.
At 8:15. the teachers came and checked to see we didn’t take any towels or mess up the rooms. We didn’t. At 8:30 we loaded the buses and were on our way to our state’s capitol, Richmond!
A little bit before 10 we reached our destination. We were early. We got off the buses in front of the capital. There were statues of our founders.
We entered the building after the guard checked our things. It was really big and pretty inside. In the middle of the Rotunda there is a lifesize marble statue of George Washington. We saw the modern-day House of Delegates and Senate. The tour of the capitol was over.
We went outside and saw Chuck Robb’s house, Virginia’s Governor. We then walked to Stanley’s Cafeteria. After lunch, we loaded the buses and went to the Science Museum. They had lots of future video games. They had a computer doctor.
The weather was getting worse at home, so we left early and went to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. We quickly saw the exhibits and headed for home.
On the way home we played cards and sang songs. We arrived at RCES one hour early. The weather here was terrible. Finally, after calling all our parents, we left one by one. That was the end of our fascinating trip.
