Of the jv’s starting five, Ken Estes "gives more of himself than anybody else,” Hahn noted. “He'll play harder, get in there and really mix it up. He's my best defensive player and he does it thorough sheer desire. I put him on the opponent’s best defensive big man—no matter what size he is. Ken is a real asset to the team because he just breathes good attitude.”
Ninth grader Jeff Porter, the junior Panthers’ floor leader, has played under a lot of pressure this year, according to Hahn. “He’s made some mistakes but he takes correction well, he’s very coachable.” By the time the fleet-footed, hustling guard gets to tenth grade, "he ought to be able to eliminate those mistakes,” Hahn added.
Sophomore guards Mike Del Grosso and Kevin Harrison are the jv's best outside shooters, the coach said. “They need to work on their ball handling and developing a positive approach to things but once they get a winning attitude, they’ll be great ballplayers.”
“I look for a lot of good things from Garence Pendleton,” Ha|m continued. The tall sophomore forward needs to work on his drive and using his right hand, according to the coach, "but he's a real good ball player.
