Most of Rappahannock’s “idle forest land” is not being managed so as to produce a product, he said. “It’s just woods growing up with weeds and vines in a natural wilderness state.” If an ag district is approved at the current per acre values set for the differential assessment program, “ are you locked into those figures for eight years?” he asked. “Can you take the forest land out? Can you raise the rate on forest land?”
