Mrs. Etta Bea Smoot, 98, of Front Royal, died Saturday, March 5,1983, at her residence.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at the Washington Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Scoggin. Burial was in the Wasington Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Smoot was bom September 7, 1884, at Linden, daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary S. French. She was the wife of the late George Thomas Smoot. She was the oldest member of the Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving are seven sons, George Smoot, Clabert Smoot, Billy Smoot, Harvey Smoot and Herbert Smoot, all of Washington, Arthur Smoot of Flint Hill and Bernard Smoot of Long Beach, Miss.; four daughters, Sadie Foster of Washington, Annie Foster of Warrenton, Beatrice Fletcher and Carrie Kines, both of Front Royal; 54 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.
Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of arrangements.
