Hounds Wind Up Day
The hound race, favorite local event, ended the day’s sport. Huntsman Oliver Brown laid the drag over the timber course, and immediately the 45 individually owned foxhounds began working the scent. Jack Bruce’s Ring was the very decisive winner, being first at all check points and across the finish line. It was the fifth win for a Bruce hound.
Second was another Bruce entry, Redmond. The next two to finish were Kelly Corbin’s Susie, last year’s winner, and Joe Corbin tied Bruce with a record five victories.
