Charles Lucian (Mick) Brown, 76, of Jonesville, died February 5, 1983, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted at Arlington First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dennis Tofano and Rev. Ray Hamilton. Burial was in the church cemetery.
A former Arlington nayor, Mr. Brown was born and raised in Sperryviue. He was the son of E. H. and Nannie Hupp Brown and was a member of Arlington First Baptist Church. He was retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company.
Mr. Brown servedas mayor of Arlington for two terms and served four years as a town commissioner, he was on of the organizers of the Arlington Fire Department, founded in 1968.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Freeman Brown; a son, Robert Donnie Brown of Jonesville; two grandsons and a sister, Lucille Brown of Portsmouth.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Brown, who died in 1951. 1
