As a spin off of their Berry Hollow venture, the Thomassons organized the craft fair for Takoma Park’s Folk Festival for five years. “We have visions for Rappahannock County in terms of that, too,” Nan said. She sees that a local festival growing out of Washington’s annual Independance Day celebrations or developing from a separate new event, say an apple day in September or October. It would give local artists and craftspeople fresh sales opportunities, Nan noted. “It might be a way to bring revenue into the county. And it’s fun, too.”
