Fourther graders showed the most dramatic improvement compared to their counterparts in 19X182. Their test scores jumped a total of dO points w ith the most significant increases coming in reading and math. Fourth graders achieved above the national norm in both those categories: 52nd percentile in reading and 55th percentile in math. Other scores were 48th percentile in social studies and 44th percentil in language, science and educational ability.
"Certainly, overall. I'm very pleased we’re noting these improvements,” said Superintendent Robert Estabrook, of the results of the 1982-88 standardized testing program.
