In the bank a few weeks ago, Jesse Pond was asked by a curious teller why he’d dubbed his Sperrvville home "Pineapple Ridge. ” Jesse told the young woman it was because he raised pineapples up there.
Their ears at the ready, the rest of the bank staff caught his remark and sent disclaimers flying at the teller's window. All the expert agronomists declared that pineapples didn’t grow 1 in Virginia.
