By postponing the reassessment required by state law by 1985, Rappahannock County Supervisors squeezed out a forty-two cent tax rate for the coming year at a special meeting Monday.
(The supervisors were told by accountant Wally Cox at their regular -June meeting that they could put off the reassessment by requesting the extension before December 31.)
Other budget items changed by the supervisors were employees’ salaries (not set by the state) lowered from an increase of W'< to 4’/<: and the deletion of .$4,000 set aside by the supervisors for the victim-witness program.
