In the third round of play for the Rappahannock County Tennis Tournament, winners advanced to the semi-finals to be completed by July 5 with the finals set for July 9 and 10.
In spite of the heat, competition was intense. In mixed doubles, the team of Bobby Gehringer and Jean Lillard defeated the team of Steve Parlegreco and Sharon Luke, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The Rod Kirkpatrick, Lois Manookian duo prevailed over the husbandwife Baumgardners, 6-4, 60. The winners will go on to play Philip and Merle Stranee.
