Club News
The Rappahannock County Garden Club held their June meeting at “Frantoma”, home of Mrs. Paul Frantz.
Officers for the coming year were elected and are: Mrs. Howard Holschuh, President; Mrs. J. H. Waddell, vice-president; Mrs. Robert Bridges, secretary and Mrs. Paul Frantz will serve as treasurer.
Mrs. Joseph Nordone, former president of Rappahannock County Garden Club is historian for the Shenandoah District.
Strawberry shortcake was served following the meeting. Anyone interested in joining the club should contact the president or any other member.
Wittl On
Dean’s List
Mark Earley Wittl has made the Dean’s List for the Spring semester at the University of South Carolina with a Grade Point Average of 8.875 out of a possible 4.0.
He was also nominated by the Provost of the University to receive an honorary award by having his biography published in The National Dean’s List.
The National Dean’s List is a publication devoted exclusively to recognizing academically gifted college students for their achievements.
Wittl received this award while taking 27 hours of classes during the Spring semester. Twelve hours is considered a full-time student.
Wittl is a candidate for sheriff of Rappahannock County.
