State Averages Up

Throughout the state, standardized test scores climbed in 1982-83 with averages for Virginia youngsters ranking above the national norm in all categories at every grade level. This is the first time since the early 1970s, when the Department of Educational began releasing the test scores, that the performance of Virginia students has compared so favorably with national norms.
