A Bicentennial Pageant was performed by the people of Rappahannock on June 12, 1976 at Montpelier. Called Let Freedom ing, the event included scenes from the past 200 years. Some, but not all, of those participating were John Walker Jenkins Eva L Smith, Dr. Kate Oettinger as Martha Washington, Donna Cannon was a World War I nurse. Col. M. F. Biddle as Benjamin rranklin, Mary Jamieson as a bloomer girl, Joyce Andrews as Betsy Ross, Aney Massie as her daughter.
