“Bunny and I took off after them and before you could even think, we were in the road at iVlt. Salem Church. We pulled up our horses at the gate to lisen. The hounds were on Aaron’s Mountain, heading in the direction of Battle Mountain. Our horses were hot, some kind of hot. We’d ridden hard for a couple of miles. I didn’t know where the fox was going ’cause red foxes would go out of the county at that time. We were heading for Aaron's Mountain and here come the hounds! They were heading right straight to us just a quarter mile behind the fox. We fell in behind them and back to Mt. Salem Church we went. The hounds were just fly in’ and we’re right after them."
They galloped across the farm fields headed back to town. "I thought that fox was going to Jack Miller’s bam lot. And that s where he went. We had run that fox for two hours or more.
"Henry Timbers had heard the hounds when we started off,” Jack said. Timbers saddled up his mount and took off after the pack. “When we rode up on one side of the barn lot at the end of that ride, Henry rode up on the other,” he added.
