deadline is Friday, August 19, but bands are urged to enter as soon as possible to assure an opportunity to compete. Bands unabie to compete in the preliminary contests due to geographical distances may be selected for the final contest on September 16 by submitting a cassette tape and completed entry form.

Dean's List

Charles Robert Priest, Jr., is named on the Dean’s List for the spring quarter at Virginia Tech for earning a grade point average of 3.57 out of a possible 4.0.

Robert is president of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national band fraternity, Rank Captain of The Marching Virginians band and member of the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad, completing all phases of advanced training.

He will be entering his senior year in civil engineering this fall.

Robert is a 1980 graduate of Culpeper County High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Priest of Amissville.
