Phyllis Dennis Homemaker Mrs. Phyllis Ann Dennis, 71, died Tuesday, June 28, 1983, at her residence. Mrs. Dennis was a native of Rappahannock County and the wife of the late William McKinley Dennis, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Armentra Jackson and Miss Virginia Dare Dennis, both of Lanham, Md., and Mrs. Barbara Shanks of Washington; five sons, William McKinley Dennis, Jr., and Cleve D. Dennis, both of Washington, D. C., John T. Dennis, Hubert A. Dennis and Ernest M. Dennis, all of Washington; one sister, Sarah Majors of Staunton; a brother, George Majors of Sperryville; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Washington by the Rev. Wendell Grant of Marshall. Burial was in the family section of the Oddfellows Cemetery. W. C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
