Silesia may not elicit instant re. ognition, but it lues with .Jan. Krebser. Her new art gallery, whicn includes a work from that extinct country, opened in Washington .m December 7.
La Galerie des Beaux-Arts features an unusual, somewhat eclectic, collection by European artists spanning the 17th to the 19th centuries. French, Dutch, Russian, German and English schools of painting are represented in the gallery.
Mrs. Krebser collected the paintings during extensive travel in Europe with her husband. Dr. Werner Krebser. "Wre have been collecting over the past four or five years," she explained. The paintings, which may be described as not inexpensive, were purchased at important auction houses in Europe.
All of the works have been researched by Mrs. Krebser at the extensive library of the National Gallery of Art in Washington. D.C.
