The discussion shifted to the proposed building. Mrs. Wood said,“Always cars are overflowing in the parking lot — if that building takes up spaces, where are they going to go?”
Dr. Krebser retorted, “You are parking on the street.” . * Mrs. Wood replied, “I am not a business.”
During the meeting Mr. Miller recalled that in an earlier time people fought in the town of Washington and then it quieted] dowrn. “We fight about everything again,” he said. “There are rights of people involved here,” replied the mayor.

(Continued from Page 1) a mushroom color, has a sectionalized maroon ceiling painted with fleur-de-lis pattern. During one stage of construction the ceiling, which was painted by Ed Foster, Jr. of Flint Hill, was a “puzzle of pieces.” Extensive track lighting has been used to highlight the art.
Recalling the construction, Mrs. Krebser s.-.id that the building had to be “completely gutted — it was sinking and we had to jack it up with steel beams.” She adds that mo9t of it was done by people from Rappahannock County including Hubert and Bert Gilkey of Chester Gap. Dr. Krebser designed the gallery's interior.
In a community that already includes other fine galleries and craftspeople, La Galerie des Beaux-Arts is an exciting and important addition.
