Mr. Estabrook also reported on his recent trip to Richmond’s Varina High School — the Governor’s Center for educational innovation and technology. Mr. Estabrook noted that this remarkable school is representative of a wide range of students and is not exclusively for the gifted and talented. He will make a further report on his findings at the next Board meeting in January. The Board also opened bids on the cafeteria service, as it is required to do every six months. Schenks, H.F.P., Sisco and Merchants Grocery have applied. Judy Burke, food services coordinator for both the Elementary School and High School, will make a recommendation to the Board on the proposals. The Board accepted with pleasure an offer made by the Elementary School’s Parent-Teacher Association for a discreet wooden sign to be placed on the school’s front lawn. The sign will read “Rappahannock Countv Elementary School.”
