Last, but definitely not least, are those golden glass grapes from Washington House of Reproductions. These are $5.00 and there is just one bunch. While you are there, make sure you poke your nose in their box of bachelor's buttons, right off the cuff, for 50 cents each. And you thought they were just flowers.

At the top of our list in this category is a gift membership in the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC). This entitles you to discounts all year long, including great movies for $2.50 a showing. Membership is $3.00 for students; $10.00 for individuals; $25.00 for families and $50.00 for sustaining members.
The RAAC calendar for 1986 is particularly lovely, with a reproduction of a local artist’s work for each of the 12 months. The calendar is $7.50 and is available through RAAC and at the Middle Street Gallery.
Your child has probably already begged you for the model police car that is at the Wt&J Grocery for $19.95. The siren blows and the lights work. If you are looking for a somewhat quieter item. Country Heritage has little music boxes at $18 each.
Bigger kids would love any of the posters on sale at the Mountain Railway Gallery in Washington. These range from classics to modern art. Photographic giants, like Ansel Adams, can also be found at Railway for under the $20 mark, unframed.
Adults of all ages can be indulged at the Rappahannock Farmers' Coop. A snow shovel for $7.20 is sure to please, particularly if a promise goes along with it.
One Christmas present that is sure to be remembered is the Kleenette broom sold at the Washington Cash Store for $5.95. Its thin width makes sweeping a pleasure and, although we haven’t tried it, it is probably an O.K. dancing partner if you are caught empty handed when your favorite song comes on.
After you give your loved one a broom, you had better consider treating her (or him) to a gift of coffee and dessert at The Inn at Little Washington. The desserts are luscious, the espresso is superb, and the ambience is warm and inviting. For all this, the $15 to $20 tab (for two) makes a great gift that is also a bargain.
Both the Middle Street Gallery and the Rush River Coop have a new supply of Eric Kvarnes’ Christmas balls for $15 apiece. These big, fragile ornaments are made of handblown glass and come in a number of mixed (exquisite) hues.
Another fun Christmas present is the mistletoe kissing ball for $12.95 at Chipmunk Hollow in Sperryville. Exchange a kis> of peace and friendship to honor this ancient Norse tradition.
