If you wish to serve something nice on these plates, go to Country Manor and purchase a cast-iron mold to make corn muffins. For $7.95, the mold consists of little ears of corn, complete with tiny grooves indicating the separate kernels.

Christmas stockings are ready to be hung by the chimney with care at both Chipmunk Hollow and Country Heritage. The stockings at Chipmunk Hollow are cream colored, with a big reindeer outlined in gold glitter and sell for $15.95 each. The stockings at Country Heritage are red with hand-painted Christmas scenes and sell for $8 to 18, depend ing on size. Country Heritage also has a large assortment of brightly colored quilted tree skirts that start at $16. They are handmade, so no two are alike.
If you know someone who likes • steak, how about giving a gift-certificate for dinner at The Corner Post in Flint Hill. The downstairs dining room is cozy and the steaks are fabulous. The Corner Post also has a • nice wine list that includes fine Virginia vino. Owner Peggy Clark, a very gracious hostess, truly makes the vistor feel welcome. A gift-certificate may be purchased in any amount.
If you are searching for something whimsical, rush to Carriage House Antiques and buy the McCoy cookie jar shaped like a bunch of bananas for $18.50. A bit more convential, but a still a delight, is their McCoy crockery mixing bowl for $16.50. Sheba, the cat, will be in attendance while you browse.
