Be sure to check the amount of interest paid on the account. The interest should be about equal to what is paid on a regular savings account. Also check to see what penalities or fees might apply. For example, is interest lost if regular payments are hot made into the account.
In some institutions the regular amount paid into the club is set by the depositor. Some have coupon booklets and others will deduct an amount from the paycheck or from another account. This automatic system is easy, and does not require a trip to the financial institution.
One caution Scott added was that most institutions will tefuse to allow the funds to be withdrawn before the November ending time. They may only allow a withdrawal in a severe emergency and may charge a fee to end the account.
