An unusual lapel pin awaits you at the Middle Street Gallery. Put in some water - fill it with wildflowers and you’re off. At $50-60 they are a bargain because they are studded with garnets or amethysts.
$2900 will get you an original chest by Peter Kramer at Rush River. Painted with friendly scenes on its front and sides (there is a magical house in the woods complete with a shy, blonde young woman), the chest is exquisite.
Go upstairs at Faith Mountain and you will see an English rocking horse. This handcarved masterpiece, which can accomodate a 250 pound person, is hand sculpted of unusual fruitwoods. To complete the realism, the mane and tail consist of horse hair and the wooden animal even has a leather saddle. $1600 will buy it.
Although it is not the most expensive item on our ljst, it may be the most beautiful. At the Middle Street Gallery one may find a hand carved and painted wooden creche by artist Doug Ball. The creche costs $125 - that is inexpensive if it gives someone a lifetime of happiness.
