This research has led to some ini ei-i -t ing discoveries. She points to a pan,iing that appears, at first, to be a simple pastoral scene. “If you examine it closely you will see that it has an entire mythological basis" says Mrs. Krebser.
< hie of the Dutch paintings, entitled "Declaration of Love” involves a young woman who debates whether to marry. Standing before a scale, she places on one side several jewels given by her suitor; the other side, weighed down, sports a bird that symbolizes her freedom. The marriage will probably not occur.
Besides the paintings, the gallery otters other surprises. Once a dreary' run-down structure, the building has been completely renovated by the Krebsers. The lower level, painted in dove-grey, has a slate floor. The interior ot the upper level, painted in
