James Freeman Sr.
James A. Freeman Sr., 62, of Winchester, died Jan. 18 in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Freeman was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Rappahannock County, the son of Katherine King Freeman and the late Richard Henry Freeman.
He was employed by J. C. Digges & Sons, White Post. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, Berryville and its men’s choir and Usher Board. He was also a member of the NAACP.
Surviving with his mother are his wife Martha Lucille Freeman, two daughters, Katherine Freeman and Deborah Freeman, and three sons, James Freeman, John Freeman and William Freeman, all of the home, a sister Margaret Lawson of White Post, and four grandsons.
A funeral service will be conducted Jan. 22 at the Zion Baptist Church, Berryville, by the Rev. Ru
