Amounts or sou lost versus amount conserved by implementing the program will be considered by the committee, and binds will be targeted toward projects with the highest conservation ratio.
Soil tests are required for practices involving lime and/or fertilizer. The ASCS requests that soil test results (within the last two years) be brought in at the time of application.

Chesapeake Bay Program: Fourteen practices are eligible for cost-share under the ASCS Chesapeake Bay Program. They include animal waste control facilities, contour farming, diversions, grass filter strips, grazing land protection, notill cropland, no-till pastureland, permanent vegetative cover on critical areas, protective cover for vegetative cropland, reforestation of erodible crop and pastureland, sediment retention, erosion or water control structure, sod waterways, stream protection, stripcropping systqro and terrace systems,:

Disaster Payments Program: The federal Disaster Payments Program, instituted as a response to the devastating drought last year, has been extended until Jan. 30.
Farmers who have had a loss of more than 50 percent of expected production of program-covered crops, or more than a 50 percent loss of income for other commercially produced crops, may be eligible for compensation under Public Law 99500.
That law authorizes limited disaster payments to burners who lost crops due to the drought. To determine eligibility the following requirements must be met: (1) File an application for disaster credit; (2) File an acreage report; (3) Furnish production evidence for the 1986 crop, as well as reports on production of non-program crops for the years 1983-85.
Wool Program: Applications for incentive payments for producers of wool or unshorn lambs sold during 1986 must be filed by Saturday, Jan. 31. The ASCS office requests that * sales tickets (with original signatures) be brought to the office when application is made.
Copies of Form CCC-182, Report of Payment to Producers, will be mailed to fanners during the last two weeks of January. The form shows the amount of ASCS payments during 1986 which have been reported to the IRS. Anyone who does not receive a form, or has a question about a form, should contact the ASCS office.
