Dr. John Landis and Dr. Thomas Patteson, members of the Medical Staff of Warren Memorial Hospital, recently performed the first transtracheal procedure in the state of Virginia. The procedure, a much improved method for delivering home oxygen, has been developed over the last six years, and was released to the community hospitals about a year ago. The initial test was performed by Dr. Henry Heimlich (of the life saving Heimlich Maneuver).
Warren Memorial Hospital is using the system developed by The Institute for Transtracheal Oxygen Therapy. Dr. Bryan Spofford and

p Mr. and Mrs. John K. Burke Jr. of Washington are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Judy Ann to Steven David Alther, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Alther of Sperryville.
Miss Burke is a 1970 graduate of Rappahannock High School. Mr. Alther graduated from Rappahannock in 1969. Both are presently employed by Aileen, Inc. in Flint Hill.
