The State Regent, NSDAR, Mrs. Charles R. Haugh of Charlottesville was guest speaker when the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR met Tuesday, May 10 at the home of Mrs. Thomas Eastham of Washington, Virginia. Mrs. Douglas Fairfax and Mrs. Maurice Biddle were co-hostesses.
State Regent Haugh in her inspiring and challenging talk, emphasized our continued interest and work on History, Education and Patriotism — the three objectives stressed in the DAR organization. She cited examples as being supportive of CAR (Children of American Revolution); presentation of medals as History, Citizenship, ROTC to Youth; Scholarships to college entrants; Flags to Schools and other establishments; assisting with Naturalization and Preservation of Shrines.
Mrs. Haugh selected as her State Shrine project, “Red Hill” — law office of Patrick Henry. She spoke of purchasing a rope bed for this Shrine and the dedication of a DAR marker
