To the editor:
Rappahannock does have a choice as to its future. Those who say “Development is coming and there is nothing we can do about it” are wrong. Given the enormous natural beauty of this county and the fine hardworking people who appreciate it, Rappahannock has assets that are unique.
The decision has been made by many people, including myself, to preserve the land and help us to remain an agricultural county. There are a lot of ways to accomplish that goal, as well as ways to pass on the preserved land to future generations. With these tools put to use, rampant development and higher taxes cannot occur.
If you feel that the agricultural future of this county is important to you, please call or write your supervisor and let him know how you feel.
