The Ruritan Club will hold its annual barbecue Saturday, June 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the fire house. Call Nelson Burner at 937-5270 for additional information. Details for the barbecue will be completed at the montly meeting on June 15.
The Ruritans express their gratitude to the community for the many donated and consigned items which contributed to the success of their recent auction.
Vacation Bible School at Amissville, located on Rt. 642, will be held June 13-17 from 9 to 12, for nursery through age 11. Everyone in that age group is welcome. For information call Mr. Burner, 937-5270.
United Methodist Vacation Bible School is set for June 20-24, from 9 to 11:30. Pastor Parker welcomes all age groups to attend.
Amissville Firemen’s Carnival is scheduled for June 29-July 2. The carnival begins Wednesday evening with a special family ride night, $5 to ride all you want. The parade begins at 7 p.m. Thursday. No-fee entries will be accepted until Thursday morning. Call Sheila or Sharon Scott at 937-4357 to arrange for participation. Everyone is welcome to enter.
Drawings for the grand prizes of $1000 and a 20 inch TV will be held around midnight Saturday. Although entries are now closed for honorary fire chief and Miss Princess, the Fire Department hopes next year to offer a contest for prince if enough interest is shown.

The church family of First Baptist Church, Washington, invites youth of all ages to participate in a youth revival June 13-17.
The revival will feature a massed choir rehearsal beginning at 5:30 p.m. and special presentations beginning at 6:45 each night.
Worship service will begin nightly at 8 with the following speakers: Monday, Rev. Billy Scott, Culpeper, Tuesday, Rev. Rodney Smith, Marshall; Wednesday, Rev. Cliffton McDonald, Upperville; Thursday, Rev. Art Patterson, Charles Town, W. Va.; Friday, Rev. Forest Freeman, Washington.
Special recognition will be given to 1988 graduating seniors on any night they choose to attend.
