The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board, which |;pversees services for senior citizens in the f|nve counties of Planning District 9, will f Sponsor a town meeting with Thelma Bland, the commissioner of the Virginia Department for the Aging, and the CSC board of directors. It will be held Thursday, June 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall of Precious Blood Catholic Church on North Main St. in Culpeper. With canning season coming fast, the county Extension office will offer free testing of pressure canning gauges on Friday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is . / not necessary to bring the entire canner, only the lid is necessary for the test to be done. The safety of home canned goods relies on proper pressure canning, and Home Extension Agent Helen Smith urges residents to take advantage of this free service to ensure the safety of their canned goods.
Itighway markers replaced ;
The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that the reflective pavement markers on U.S. 211 • west of Sperryville $md U.S. 522 on Chester Gap will be replaced. The markers, which glow when hit by headlights, have been installed as a safety aid on many sections of state roads which are subject to fog conditions. The installation is scheduled to be done during July, according to a. VDOT spokesman.

Physicals for high school students planning to participate in athletics during 4 the 1990-91 school year will be offered at ^ Rappahannock County High School on June 21 and 22. Physicals for girls will be given on Thursday, June 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and boys physicals will be given on Friday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
